Advocating for the Public Interest
Welcome to Public Interest Law Network (PILN). We are a graduate student-led initiative within Melbourne Law School, focused on promoting and facilitating student engagement in socio-legal justice.
Acknowledgment of Country
Public Interest Law Network operates on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty has never been ceded. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, as well as to all First Nations peoples. We’d particularly like to acknowledge the First Nations people who engage with PILN as members, collaborators, advisors, and attendees. There is no justice without justice for First Nations people. As law students, we recognise that settler law has enabled and continues to enable colonialism, and the central and guiding role that First Nations justice must hold in the spaces we create when advocating for the public interest.
